Since graduating in graphic design from Saint Martin’s School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London, Jonathan Barnbrook has developed a multifaceted practice that includes activism, graphic design, typeface design, industrial design
and motion graphics. Barnbrook founded his design studio, Barnbrook Design in 1990. His typefaces were originally released
through Californian innovators Emigre.

Catalina Estrada, Colombian illustrator based in Barcelona since 1999 who has managed to reinterpret the Latin American
folklore with its original strength to make it bloom in deep harmony and simplicity. Her impressive and cheerful visual language,
infectiously optimistic, with thousands of colors, and with all the power of nature, goes beyond orders.

In my work I wanted to use the overlapping of graphic elements such as Crop Marks, shapes and typography because I’ve found out this style in Barnbrook’s portfolio. Moreover, I had to be influenced by Catalina Estrada, an artist that takes advantage of the energy of textures and colors.
